Eurovision winner Eldar Gasimov

Eldar "Ell" Parviz oglu Gasimov is an Azerbaijani singer who rose to fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011. Eldar represented Azerbaijan in the competition alongside Nigar Jamal, performing under the pseudonym 'Ell & Nikki'. Their song, 'Running Scared', won the competition with 221 points, making them the first male-female duo to win the title since 1963.

Eldar Gasimov was born on 4 June 1989 and began singing at a very young age. Between 2001 and 2005, he received professional training in music and learned to play the piano. He graduated from Baku Slavic University with a double major in international relations and regional geography and has been a graduate student of international relations at the same university since 2010.
