Indian Passport Visa Requirements For Visiting Belarus

Indian passport holders do need a visa to enter Belarus, unless they meet certain criteria. Travellers with a valid multiple-entry visa from an EU or Schengen country, an entry stamp, and an onward departure ticket within 30 days of arrival can enter Belarus for a maximum of 30 days without a visa. Entry to Belarus without a visa is permitted at Minsk National Airport, Airport Brest, Airport Gomel, Airport Grodno, Airport Mogilev, and Airport Vitebsk.

Visa-free entry for Indian nationals

The Republic of Belarus has provided visa-free entry for Indian citizens for a short stay of up to 30 days. This is only applicable if they are entering Belarus via Minsk National Airport and have a confirmed flight departing from Minsk National Airport within 30 days of entry. This visa-free entry does not extend to persons arriving from the Russian Federation (Moscow) or those intending to leave for airports in the Russian Federation.

To enter Belarus, Indian nationals must carry the following documents:

• A valid ordinary passport for travelling abroad.
• Proof of financial means: at least 25 Euros or the equivalent amount in US dollars or Belarusian rubles for each day of their stay.
• Medical insurance with a coverage of at least 10,000 Euros for the territory of Belarus. This can be provided by Indian companies or bought at Minsk Airport upon arrival.
• A valid multiple-entry visa from a European Union or Schengen Area member state with a border entry stamp. This visa must have been used at least once before entering Belarus.

If an Indian national is staying in Belarus for more than 5 days, they must register with the territorial departments of the Ministry of Home (Internal) Affairs of Belarus. If they are staying at a hotel, the hotel management will handle the registration. If they are staying in private accommodation, they or their host must register at the local Home Affairs office within 5 days of arrival.

Visa requirements for Indian citizens

Visa-Free Travel

Indian citizens can enter Belarus without a visa for a maximum of 30 days, but only through Minsk National Airport, Airport Brest, Airport Gomel, Airport Grodno, Airport Mogilev, and Airport Vitebsk. Visa Requirements

If Indian citizens wish to stay longer than 30 days or enter Belarus through a different port of entry, they must apply for a visa. The following documents are required:

• A duly completed visa application form, filled out in legible handwriting or typing in BLOCK LETTERS in English, Russian, or Belarusian. The purpose of the visit must be specified in detail.
• One colour photograph, taken within the last 6 months, with the full face visible without sunglasses, a hat, or other head coverings unless for religious or ethnic reasons. The background should be plain, evenly lit, and light.
• A valid original passport with at least two blank pages intended for visas, valid for at least 90 days after the expected departure date from Belarus.
• A COPY of the full Birth Certificate and copies of the passports of the applicant's parents or legal representatives if the applicant is under 18 years old.
• A document certifying the loss of Belarusian or USSR citizenship if the applicant previously held either.
• Visa support documents (visa-invitation) depending on the type of visa requested.
• A COPY of the obligatory health insurance certificate from a foreign or Belarusian medical insurance company with coverage of at least 10,000 Euros for the territory of Belarus.
• Hotel booking confirmation on the letterhead of the hotel in Belarus. If renting private apartments, scanned copies of the booking confirmation, proof that the lessor is the owner of the apartments, and a certificate of the registration of a private unitary enterprise must be provided.
• Confirmed flight itinerary and a personal bank account statement for the period of at least 3 months prior to the date of visa submission. A pay slip from the workplace is also acceptable.

The visa fee is 60 Euros, payable in Indian Rupees (INR). Urgent visas are available for 120 Euros. The fee must be paid in exact change at the RBL Bank located near the Embassy.

Visa-free travel via Minsk National Airport

Indian citizens can enter Belarus visa-free for up to 30 days, exiting through Minsk National Airport. This does not apply to those arriving from or departing to airports in the Russian Federation, as these are considered internal flights without border control.

Requirements

To enter Belarus via Minsk National Airport without a visa, Indian citizens must have:

• A valid ordinary passport for travelling abroad, valid for at least 90 days beyond the intended date of departure from Belarus.
• Financial means: at least 25 Euros (or the equivalent in dollars or Belarusian rubles) for each day of stay.
• Medical insurance with coverage of at least 10,000 Euros that is valid in Belarus. This can be provided by Indian companies or bought at Minsk Airport upon arrival.
• A valid multiple-entry visa from a European Union or Schengen Area member state, with a border entry stamp. This visa must be used at least once before entering Belarus.
• Flight tickets with confirmation of departure from Minsk National Airport within 30 days of the date of entry.

Registration

Visitors staying in Belarus for more than 5 days must be registered with the territorial departments of the Ministry of Home (Internal) Affairs of Belarus. If staying in a hotel, this registration will be carried out by the hotel management. If staying in other private accommodation, the visitor or their host must register at a local Home Affairs office within 5 days of arrival.

Visa options for Belarus

Visa-free entry

Citizens of India can enter Belarus without a visa for up to 30 days, as long as they exit the country through Minsk National Airport. This option is not available to those arriving from or departing to the airports of the Russian Federation. To enter Belarus without a visa, Indian nationals must have:

Transit visa

Transit visas are valid for up to one year and allow travellers to stop in Belarus for two days when passing through the country.

Short-term visa

The most commonly used visa is the short-term visa, which is valid for up to 90 days. These visas are suitable for private travellers on family business and can be single-entry, double-entry, or multiple-entry. Tourists usually receive a short-term group visa through their travel agency.

Long-term visa

Long-term visas are usually valid for 90 days to five years and allow multiple entries to Belarus. They are suitable for frequent business travellers or private travellers wishing to stay longer in the country.

Visa application process

As an Indian citizen, you can enter Belarus without a visa for up to 30 days, but only if you enter and exit through Minsk National Airport. If you are entering Belarus from the Russian Federation (Moscow) or plan to leave for the airports of the Russian Federation, you will need a visa.

If you are entering Belarus through Minsk National Airport without a visa, you must have:

• A valid ordinary passport for travelling abroad.
• Financial means: at least 25 Euros (or the equivalent in dollars or Belarusian rubles) for each day of your stay.
• Medical insurance (which can be provided by Indian companies or bought at Airport Minsk on arrival) with coverage for at least 10,000 Euros that covers the territory of Belarus.
• A valid (not expired) multiple-entry visa from a European Union or Schengen Area member state with a border entry stamp. This means that you must have used this visa at least once before entering Belarus.
• Flight tickets with confirmation of departure from Minsk National Airport within 30 days of the date of entry.

If you are staying in Belarus for more than 5 days, you must register with the territorial departments of the Ministry of Home (Internal) Affairs of Belarus. If you are staying in a hotel, the management will take care of this for you. If you are staying in apartments or with friends, you or your inviting party must register with the local Home Affairs office within 5 days of arrival.

If you are entering Belarus from the Russian Federation (Moscow) or plan to leave for the airports of the Russian Federation, or if you are staying for longer than 30 days, you will need to apply for a visa. To do this, you must first book an appointment by emailing [email protected]. In your request, you must specify the purpose of your visit to Belarus, the length of your stay, the name of the inviting company or person, and your permanent address in India. The Embassy will then reply with a date and time slot for your visa application submission.

Once you have a date and time slot, you must submit the following documents in person:

• A completed visa application form, filled out in legible handwriting or typing (in BLOCK LETTERS), in English, Russian, or Belarusian. The form must be signed by the applicant personally; failure to do so may result in the refusal of the application. If the applicant is a minor, the form must be signed by their legal representative.
• One colour photograph, which meets the following requirements:

• Not older than 6 months.
• Full face (70-80% of the picture) without sunglasses, a hat, or other head coverings unless for ethnic or religious reasons.
• Plain, evenly lit, and light background.
• No corrugation or ink is allowed.

A valid original passport, which:

• Contains a photograph of the owner.
• Has at least two blank pages intended for visas.
• Is valid for at least 90 days after the expected departure date from Belarus.
• Contains no torn pages, marks, entries, erasures, or corrections that are not certified by the issuing authorities of the respective foreign state.

• If the applicant is under 18 years old, a COPY of their full Birth Certificate (which contains information about their parents) and copies of the passports of the applicant's parents (legal representatives).
• If the applicant previously had USSR or Belarusian citizenship, a document certifying the loss of this citizenship must be submitted to the Embassy.
• Visa support documents (visa-invitation) depending on the type of visa requested. Only original visa support documents are accepted.
• A COPY of the obligatory health insurance certificate from a foreign (including Indian) or Belarusian medical insurance company, which should contain the following information:

• The name and address of the foreign insurance company (bank), and its phone number.
• The name of the foreign citizen covered by the insurance.
• The territorial validity should include the Republic of Belarus.
• It should be valid for the period of your stay in Belarus.
• The minimum limit of responsibility of the medical insurance is 10,000 Euros.

• Hotel booking confirmation on the letterhead of the hotel in Belarus. The confirmation must be sent directly from the hotel by email or fax. If you are renting private apartments, you must provide scanned copies of the booking confirmation, proof that the lessor is the owner of the apartments, and a certificate of the registration of a private unitary enterprise.
• A confirmed flight itinerary.
• A personal bank account statement for the period of no less than 3 months prior to the date of visa submission. A pay slip from the workplace is also acceptable.

The visa fee is 60 EUROS payable in INR (120 EUROS for urgent visas). The fee is paid in Indian Rupees through the bank (the RBL Bank is situated close to the Embassy) with reference to the surname. The consular officer will notify you of the exact amount of the visa fee after the visa application is done. After payment is made, the applicant must bring the deposit slip to the Embassy no later than 12:30 pm on the day of the application.
