Booking A Seat: Austrian Airlines Reservation Guide

Austrian Airlines allows passengers to reserve their seats either at the time of booking or at a later date. This can be done through the Austrian Airlines website or app, or by calling the Service Centre. Passengers can choose their preferred seat, whether that be a window, aisle, or a seat with extra legroom, and reserve it up to a year in advance. HON Circle Members and Senators can reserve a Classic Seat free of charge for themselves and those travelling with them on the same booking number.

Reserve a seat online

You can reserve your seat either at the time of booking or at a later date. You can reserve your preferred seat up to a year in advance, and you can do this online or by telephone. You can also book flights and check-in using the Austrian App.

If you are a HON Circle Member or Senator, you can reserve a Classic Seat free of charge for yourself and those travelling with you on the same booking number on flights with Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS. This benefit is subject to availability and does not apply to Economy Light bookings on short-haul flights. With the Economy Light fare, the option of selecting a Classic Seat free of charge on short-haul flights is only available to HON Circle Members during online check-in.

You can also reserve an Extra Space Seat in Business Class for yourself and those travelling with you on the same booking number free of charge on flights with Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS. A confirmed reservation for an Extra Space Seat does not entitle you to a specific seat on board the aircraft (e.g. Seat 3A). It only entitles you to a seat in your chosen Extra Space Seat category.

You can reserve your neighbouring seat to ensure that it remains unoccupied. To do this, you will need to telephone the Service Centre.

You can also reserve your seat online up to 47 hours before departure. To do this, go to your itinerary and find your Austrian confirmation number. Then, use this on Austrian's webpage to choose your seats.

Reserve an Extra Space Seat

To reserve an Extra Space Seat with Austrian Airlines, you must be a HON Circle Member or Senator. This will allow you to reserve an Extra Space Seat in Business Class for yourself and those travelling with you on the same booking number, free of charge. This applies to flights with Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS.
