However, this does not include game day parking during football, men's basketball, or women's basketball games.

A Visitor Permission is required for anyone who needs to park in university parking areas, regardless of the length of time. Visitors can pay for a daily or hourly permit via the Passport Parking app, which is available on www.passportparking.com, the Apple Store, and the Google Play Store.

The following zones are available for visitors to park in:

• Zone 9647: Valid at all New Brunswick student lots for $5 per day, from 6:00 am to 2:00 am
• Zone 9645: Valid at the Livingston deck in New Brunswick for $3 per hour, 24/7
• Zone 9648: Valid at Deck 3 and Eagle East Lot 509A for $5 per day
• Zone 9649: Valid at all Camden student lots for $5 per day, from 6:00 am to 2:00 am

Rutgers New Brunswick Departmental One-Day Visitor permits are issued to university departments to provide parking to visitors on a one-day basis only. One-day permissions on College Ave Campus are restricted to Lot 26, 30, and College Ave Deck. Parking is allowed with permission in any common faculty/staff lot. The Department will assign permission to the visitor's license plate for one day of parking, expiring at midnight. The visitor's name, email address, vehicle license plate, and state of registration are required. This permission is only for visitors and not for students, faculty, or staff, as this will result in a $100 citation for fraudulent use.

The School of Arts and Sciences One Spring Street Entrance has access to the Spring Street Parking Deck, but this is by permit only. Without a permit, the closest public parking is the Wellness Deck at 95 Paterson St, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. The daily rates are $3 for 0-1 hours, $6 for 1-2 hours, and $8 for 2-3 hours. Credit cards are accepted.

Consequences for Unpaid Tickets

• Unpaid tickets and late fees will result in a university hold barring students from getting new parking permission or receiving transcripts.
• Parking permission refunds – ticket and late fee amounts will be deducted.
• Unpaid tickets will eventually be sent to a collection agency to ensure payment.
• Cars will be towed or immobilized, at the owner's expense, if the total for all citations and late fees exceeds $500.00. The customer is responsible for any fees imposed by the tow company.

Appealing Parking Tickets

Appeals must be made online only within ten (10) calendar days of issuance. Student holds will be released temporarily from appealed citations pending Appeal Officer's decision. If a decision is made to deny an appeal or reduce the original citation, the hold will be reinstated.

Citations will be upheld if any of the following reasons are the basis for the appeal:

• Couldn't find a legal parking space.
• Didn't know policies or regulations.
• Didn't see posted restrictions.
• Couldn't find a convenient parking space.
• Had four-way flashers on (emergency flashers).
• Didn't have enough time to park properly.

Accessible parking
