Greater Cleveland Conference

The Greater Cleveland Conference (GCC) is an OHSAA athletic league that was active from 1950 to 1998 and then reformed in 2015. The league includes schools from Cuyahoga County, Medina County, and Lake County. The current members are Euclid, Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, Strongsville, Brunswick, Medina, and Mentor. The GCC has a strong focus on athletics and recognises outstanding monthly performances by its athletes.

The history of the GCC began in 1950 with six founding high schools: Bedford Bearcats, Berea Braves, Euclid Panthers, Garfield Heights Bulldogs, Maple Heights Mustangs, and Willoughby Union Rangers. Over the years, the league has seen schools join and leave, with some moving to other conferences like the Lake Erie League and the Western Reserve Conference. The GCC dissolved in the early 2000s but was able to reform in 2015 due to Mentor retaining the rights to the league name.

Brunswick High School's Blue Devils football team is a part of the GCC and has played against other member schools such as Strongsville, Solon, Mentor, Euclid, Shaker Heights, and Medina. The team has had varying results, with wins, losses, and close games throughout the season.
