In addition, Comcare manages most asbestos-related claims for compensation under the Asbestos-related Claims (Management of Commonwealth Liabilities) Act 2005 (ARC Act). Comcare also takes part in the Heads of Workers’ Compensation Authorities (HWCA) group, along with other Australian and New Zealand workers’ compensation authorities, to promote and implement best practice in workers’ compensation arrangements.

Comcare works with other work health and safety regulators and key organisations to improve workplace health and safety through education, prevention and regulation. Comcare has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Heads of Workplace Safety Authorities (HWSA) to promote and implement better practice in work health and safety policy, legislation, education and enforcement.
